‘Guy’ was my first attempt at really trying to draw a character for the first time in a long time. I had just gotten a scanner for my PC and I wanted to try out colouring in a picture on the computer.
I am a big fan of MegaTokyo and had been reading a little about drawing on the boards there and also at the FredArt forums. It was suggested there, that when first starting, that you try and copy somebody else’s character. So I tried to draw Piro, but somewhere along the way it became somebody else! The sketch was drawn with a pen. I coloured it in with PaintShop Pro and I am fairly happy with the result.
Just after I finished sketching this picture, I sketched another character, ‘Girl’.
Not so sure if I’ll go back to this picture and touch it up, I might do.
