November is National Novel Writing Month!!
NaNoWriMo is an event run every year in November since 1999. The idea is that you write a novel between the 1st and 30th of November with a goal of 50,000 words. Those who obtain this goal become “winners.” The idea is not to write a necessarily good novel, it’s all about quantity and it’s supposed to be fun.
I first came across NaNoWriMo a couple of years back in 2001, but didn’t go any further than registering; college stuff got in the way. Had a quick look in 2002, but decided against it, again because of college assignments and the like. But I’ve decided to try and do it this year. So I’ve registered and I’m ready to start. I have a basic plot in mind and the title is “Restitution.” Wish me luck!
